H. C. R. 28--"Authorizing the Governor to increase the
maximum speed limit on those portions of the state's corridors
and limited access highways which are suited for higher speed
limits."
Whereas, The state's corridors and limited access highways
offer improved access to many areas of this state; and
Whereas, Economic development and improved business
competitiveness requires that the state establish rapid, safe and
efficient means of transporting people, goods and products; and
Whereas, The federal government has determined that states
may increase the speed limits on corridors and limited access
highways if agreed to by the Legislature and implemented by the
Governor; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Governor is hereby authorized to increase the
maximum speed limit on those portions of the state's corridors
and limited access highways which are suited for higher speed
limits; and, be it
Further Resolved,
That the Clerk of the House of Delegates
is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the
Governor.
